The Top25 Women on the Web awards are unique in recognizing the achievements of 25 local, national and international women who have most inspired people worldwide with their efforts to advance technology, contribute to the community, and set an example as successful business women in the Internet and new media industries.   The awards recognize the achievements of women who have made a significant contribution to the advancement of technology and to the advancement of women in technology-related fields. The 2001 awards also honored those who have helped increase the number of women on the Internet/online to more than half the Internet population, and emphasized the community-based network of women who have helped each other in technology-related fields.   About SF WoW San Francisco Women on the Web (SF WoW) is a San Francisco-based grassroots, non-profit organization with a stated mission of providing networking and professional development opportunities for Bay Area women in the Internet, hi-tech and new media industries.
